Sutures may be placed to minimize bleeding or to reapproximate tissue. If the sutures become loose or fall out, no need to panic. Resorbable sutures typically dissolve 7-10 days after surgery. Non-resorbable sutures are usually removed after 3 weeks. If the loose ends of sutures become bothersome after day 5 post operative, you are welcome to trim them or stop by our office to have them removed.
